Cornbread Mafia Story Here – After an eight year fugitive investigation, the former leader of the Cornbread Mafia is finally back on Kentucky soil.
Add it to the list. Seriously, add it to the fucking list of reasons I love this great country. Only in America would we have a Cornbread Mafia. Honestly, cornbread is so good I completely understand why there is an organized crime gang devoted to the bread made by God himself. Nothing better than a slice of cornbread with some smoked brisket. Fucking heaven.
Here’s some background on the leader of the Cornbread Mafia:
John “Johnny” Robert Boone arrived in Lexington, Kentucky on Wednesday before being taken to Louisville to appear before a federal magistrate in federal court. Boone entered a not guilty plea.
A warrant for manufacturing and intent to distribute marijuana was issued for Boone more than 8 years ago. He was arrested in Canada in December 2016.
The 73-year-old Boone was convicted in the 1980s in what prosecutors called the “largest domestic marijuana syndicate in American history.” They said he was the head of the Cornbread Mafia, which had 29 marijuana farms in nine states.
Cornbread and Weed… now that is a combination for the ages.
